Fellowship Spotlight: Matthew Curlee

Matthew Ryan Curlee is a fourth-year international affairs major pursuing the master of public administration at the University of Georgia. He was initially motivated to enter politics because of his desire to see his community grow and prosper, and he hopes to pursue a career in management in local government or humanitarian non-profit organizations. Through the Fellowship, he aims to gain insights into the state of Georgia’s political processes. As a Fellow, he has learned that even if achievements only come gradually, it is important to ensure that efforts to make the world a better place are constant. Before joining the Fellowship, Matthew worked in the International Rescue Committee in Atlanta and Elder Law Firm, PLLC. In addition to the Fellowship, he also serves as the Chapter President of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia’s Epsilon Lambda chapter. In all his roles, he is driven to make a meaningful impact in the lives of his fellow humans. Matthew loves making music and has been performing for over a decade. He can play multiple bass instruments and spent two years with UGA’s Redcoat Marching Band.
