Fellowship Spotlight: Ansley Hatcher

Ansley Hatcher is a third-year Senior Staffer majoring in political science and minoring in criminal justice studies. She has been with the Fellowship since 2020 and was motivated to join to gain experience analyzing legislation, strengthening her policy research skills and building relationships with other Fellows. Throughout her time with the Fellowship, she has learned how closely state politics affect people’s lives and how important it is to interact with the community. After graduation this may, she will be pursuing a Masters of Public Administration at UGA and aims to work as a policy analyst looking at education policy after graduation. She was motivated to pursue a career in politics because of her experience growing up in a small town that was often left out of the political discourse. In addition to the Fellowship, Ansley is also a peer mentor with SPIA and a Customer Services Assistant with a UGA residence hall. She is excited to graduate in May and hopes to see Stacey Abrams become Georgia’s next governor. Her favorite UGA memory is ringing the chapel bell with her best friend right after UGA won the football National Championship. In her free time, she enjoys reading books and listening to Taylor Swift and Harry Styles.
